Samuel Umtiti could be making a last minute move to Arsenal ahead of the new Premier League season, The Sun reports.
It is understood Unai Emery is attempting beat the transfer deadline day with the possibility of signing the France international.
The Gunners had pulled out of negotiations for RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano after a £55million price was quoted for the central defender.
Following Laurent Koscielny’s departure to Ligue 1 side, Bordeaux, Arsenal are in the market for a new centre-back in the market before Thursday’s deadline day.
However, reports claim that moves for Upamecano and Juventus’ Daniele Rugani failed to reach an agreement, as Umtiti could now be the next possible option.
The 25-year-old has struggled for regular game time at the Nou Camp last season and after being plagued by injuries, he fell behind Clement Lenglet in the pecking order.

Several French publications had suggested that the Frenchman could be looking elsewhere this summer.
However, the rumours were quickly played down by Umtiti, who said: “I have a contract, I feel happy in Barcelona.”
Umtiti had also been linked with a potential switch to Manchester United, but the Old Trafford giants held reservations over the potential transfer fee.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Daniele Rugani have continued talks with Premier League side, Arsenal for a possible summer move to the Emirates.
The Italian champions are willing to part ways with Rugani after signing Matthijs de Ligt from Ajax but Juve are putting out fee of around £40million.
